Our commitment lies at the intersection of health, education, and community enrichment. We prioritize initiatives that improve the health outcomes for individuals who have or are at risk of chronic kidney disease, education programs that promote literacy and health care career pathways and enhancing and improving Downtown Denver — the home of our global headquarters.

We champion access to quality education for the workforce of tomorrow. We focus on advancing third grade literacy and invest in opportunities for students interested in health care careers by helping remove barriers to access and investing in opportunities that provide career exposure and experiences.

We are dedicated to an unwavering pursuit of a healthier tomorrow. We support individuals with health and wellness resources who have or are at risk of chronic kidney disease, and champion organizations facilitating organ transplantation. Our goal is to address systemic health challenges to help ensure no one is left behind in the journey to creating healthier communities.

Alongside four strategic nonprofits across the country, the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ Giving Foundation has provided more than 180,000 meals to individuals living with kidney disease to better meet their nutritional needs.

Western Governor’s University Start Early program provides resources for nursing students who demonstrate financial barriers to their education and will support their efforts to complete their nursing degree. The ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ Giving Foundation provided a $1M multi-year contribution to bring this important program to life.

According to a study by UCLA Health, the use of music therapy may positively impact quality of life for people on dialysis. The 2023 ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ Day of Music in collaboration with the Colorado Symphony featured 13 concerts at dialysis centers across Denver and ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ's World Headquarters, bringing smiles and joy to hundreds of our patients and teammates.

We believe collective action creates meaningful change. Through programs like Dollars for Doers and the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ Way of Giving, we aim to harness the passion and energy of our teammates toward impactful volunteer and giving efforts.

Volunteerism and Dollars for Doers

ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ aims to contribute 125,000 volunteer hours from 2020 to 2025. Teammates have already volunteered over 125,000 hours, exceeding our goal in 2024.

ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ rewards the volunteer efforts of our teammates. For every hour volunteered, ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ donates $15, up to $500, to the charity of their choice.

Matching Gifts
ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ will match up to $500 of a teammate's personal contribution to the charity of their choice.

Giving Pillar Requests

ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ supports organizations that align with our Giving Pillars: Community First, Education, and Health. We also consider requests that enable large volunteer opportunities for ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ teammates or support nonprofits in which ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ teammates serve on the Board of Directors.

Please allow up to eight to twelve weeks for consideration and processing. We prioritize funding in Denver, Colorado, the home of our global headquarters. Be sure to note any ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ teammate involvement when applying.

Medical Education and Health Care Requests

Medical Education Grants support educational programs sponsored by independent accredited organizations that provide continuing medical education (CME) credits. ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ supports Medical Education Grants that address the following:

  • Advancing and understanding kidney care
  • Dialysis treatment and advancements
  • Education of nephrology providers including trainees and professionals
  • Kidney disease management and prevention including understanding of co- morbidities

All donation requests must be submitted through one of the applications found on . Giving Pillar requests must be submitted at least twelve weeks in advance of the event or donation commitment deadline. Medical Education Grants are reviewed quarterly.

What is the required supporting documentation for donation requests?

Please complete all fields in the requesting application. Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant and may extend the decision timeframe for the request.

What is the payment timeline for approved requests?

Approved and processed donations are paid out according to our grants management system’s (Benevity/American Online Giving Foundation) monthly disbursement schedule, on/around the 21st day of the month following when it was approved (e.g. a request that was approved on May 5 will be paid out on June 21). Please take this timeline into consideration when making requests.

Funding is sent directly to recipient organizations according to their preferences registered within Benevity. We encourage our nonprofit partners to sign up for electronic payments to avoid fees associated with traditional check processing.

What would increase my odds of being funded?

Strong strategic alignment to ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ’s Giving Pillars of Community First, Health or Education is critical. We look for a strategy well-aligned to our pillars and clear impact metrics. Programmatic investments vs. event sponsorships are prioritized. Additionally, existing ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ teammate (also known as employee) engagement is a significant consideration. We also prioritize funding through the Giving Pillars to Metro Denver, the home of our ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ global headquarters.

Funding requests outside of Denver are sometimes considered and opportunities are shared with our local volunteer teams for their consideration from the ºìÌÒÊÓƵ¸ßÇåappÏÂÔØ Way of Giving.
